"I was always in trouble with the police. No-one understood me. No-one listened to me. But Geeta met me and friends one day and she listened to us and things we would like to do in the village. We all thought she was just another one of those  'all talk' people. But she wasn't. She came through and organised a song writing and music production workshop with professionals for us in the village hall. It was great fun. I loved writing songs, but to get them recorded and hear myself  and my friends was awesome. Geeta was doing a big project in the villages, and she asked me if I would like to take part in a dance performance. I agreed. We performed for all the villages at our local park after the carnival procession. After that day, people from the village were talking to me and telling me how good I was, and congraulating me. I had never had that experience of praise. I was always invisible, but only noticed when i was 'bad' and on the wrong side of the law. But that recognition made me feel proud of myself because I was noticed for a good thing. It changed my life, and my friends lives. We all have jobs now, we have travelled abroad and some of us have settled with our own homes, things are good now, I am very happy. " I asked Geeta that I was interested in photography. she trusted me with her Canon camera and asked me to take photographs of the N-GAGE in Carnival performance at Waddesden Manor. I loved taking the photographs, I took hundreds. I felt really happy when I showed Geeta them. I felt very confident and was not  nervous anymore. " I was always in trouble at school. I was in fights nearly everyday. But Geeta came to our school to teach dance. I started her classes just before I was going to be suspended from school. Geeta listened to me, guided me and helped me to love and respect myself. Geeta showed me that life was bigger than what I imagined it to be. She took me to many events and I performed with freedom. I was able to express myself through dance, which helped me to discover who I am. I loved going to her classes and wanted to be like her, she told me that i should be a better version of myself and not a poor one of someone else. Geeta helped me with myself and spoke to the school and I worked with her on her projects and programmes both in and out of school. I was not suspended  and she helped me with my GCSE Dance. I did my GCSE's and got good grades. Geeta even helped me to understand what I would enjoy doing as a career. I attended college and went onto university. All this was made possible because of Geeta. If she did not come to our school. i would have been suspended and my life would have been ruined. Everyone loves me know, because I learnt to love and respect myself, all because of Geeta. "My son is autistic and has been engaging well with Geeta and her dance classes for their school performance in an event out of school. Firstly, i was so happy that my son took part in the performance on the day, but more so that he focused and remained focused when the music was played too early and the children and music had to be reset. This would have been a very difficult situation for my son, as routines help him to function. I was very concerned that he may get upset, but as I watched him with delight, he just went with it and performed so beautifully. I was so happy to see that my son managed to 'think outside of the box' and not remain in the structure of routine always. “I am a Teaching Assisant at Steeple Claydon School, I really enjoyed the Carnival project at the School for Black History Week.  I have never seen so many parents turn up for the assembly nor has the school as they did for that Black History Week that Geeta and Coco P came and delivered.  The enjoyment by the children and parents made me feel very happy.  I am now training as a carnival costume maker and will work with Sheree who will teach dance.  My children of 14yrs and 19yrs come along to the dance classes and carnival costume making sessions too, and thoroughly enjoy them”.  JM – Steeple Claydon

“I first found out about the carnival project when my daughter told me that they were running a series of workshops not just dance but creating costumes.  I was quite impressed with the idea of doing something like that in a rural community where there isn’t a lot on particularly for young children, and there’s not much really that you can incorporate as a family.  It’s so lively and enthusiastic, you really need to see all the childrens faces.  Even meeting some of the adults, they love it, it’s brilliant.  It’s a wonderful opportunity and it would be great to see it happen more around all over the place really, especially for the young people that do not have a lot to do in the villages”.  CR – Gawcott

"i attend Ryde School, IOW. When we were told that we were going to write a song with Christchurch School to celebrate 75 years of India's Independency, I was not too sure.  As the two schools don't really like eachother, i wasn't sure how it could work. But by the middle of the workshops, we started to really think about the project more. By the end of the project, we all decided it would be a good idea if the two schools could meet and perform the song together. It was so much fun. I enjoyed the song writing part, and had a go at the singing, which I was not sure about. The whole project was real fun, we wrote, and sang and danced, and we all learnt so much about the history of Queen Victoria and India. I would love to have more workshops like this because I found it really easy to learn. Thank you to Geeta and the artistes that came with her.

"I was suffering from severe depression. I heard Geeta' Mental Health and wellbeing Programme on Kohinoor Radio, Leicester. one day. I started to listened to her for a couple of weeks and things resonated with me, I felt she understood me. I gathered courage and decided to call her. She was so understanding. I remember the first thing she said to me was 'Well done for taking the step to help yourself.' That made me cry as I felt she knew how hard it was for me to make the call, as I never went out or spoke to anyone, my social anxiety was terrible and I stayed in my house all day long, dressed and ready but never to go out. My wife was so supportive during this stage of my life, but very hard on her. Geeta started her therapy sessions with me and within 3 months I felt stronger in my self, I could feel myself becoming me again. Geeta helped me to identify my needs and put boundaries in so people could not walk all over me anymore. I felt like I was taking a long lasting breath of freshness after being suffocated under mountains of pressure and stress. Today. I have been enjoying myself with extened families, attending weddings, which I could never do, driving around and going to the shops, more importantly started up my business again. I feel strong and confident now. all thanks to Geeta, thank you so much I feel like a new man. NS Leicester
